MARTO
Cover of “Estar vivo” by MARTO: a hooded figure in black, seen from behind, facing a winter sea under a stormy sky.

Debut single

Estar vivo

Out now

MARTO seen from behind facing the waves, with “Estar vivo” printed on the hoodie.

Still standing, even when everything seems to fall apart.

The song

Estar vivo

“Estar vivo” means “to be alive”. It was born from getting back on the road after ten years: a song about falling to the edge, facing your own ghosts and choosing to stay alive.

Alternative rock from Lima. A low, restrained voice in the verses that breaks into a chorus between melody and scream.

Lyrics (in Spanish)

Verse 1

Mi sombra tiembla, mundo torcido
La mente se quiebra, pero sigo vivo
Hay ruido en el alma, pasos confundidos
Y un eco profundo que no he entendido

Pre-chorus

El vértigo llama, pero no me atrapa
Descifro el caos aunque todo se derrumba
Rompo cadenas en cámara lenta
El pulso arde y la duda tienta

Chorus

Vuelve, vuelve, sigo escondido,
En el borde estoy de pie
Vuelve, vuelve, quiero estar vivo
Está bien, está bien

Verse 2

Chorus

Vuelve, vuelve, sigo escondido,
En el borde estoy de pie
Vuelve, vuelve, quiero estar vivo
Está bien, está bien

Outro

Está bien
Está bien
Está bien

MARTO

MARTO is the new musical chapter of Martín Beas, a Peruvian musician whose story runs between Lima and Buenos Aires. After Melian and Heraldo, he’s back with songs that move through chaos, doubt and the will to keep going.

Heavy guitars, melodies and a voice that shifts from calm to scream. “Estar vivo”, his debut single as MARTO, opens this chapter with one idea: staying on your feet, even when everything seems to fall apart.
